Draw and guess words with your friends or people all around the world in Skribbl.io! Drawn and guess words with your friends or people all around the world in Skribbl.io! I love using this as a brain break for my students because the students are placed in rooms (or groups), one student (the drawer) is given a choice of three words, and chooses one of those three words, then has to draw the word while the other students try to guess the word. This is a great way for students to work together to guess what the word is!!
Google Slides: 2 Truths and 1 Lie
Using Google Slides, students create a 2 truths and 1 lie slide with pictures. Students love this activity and trying to guess what is true and which one is a lie. Check out this example created at the ASD Digital Video Camp in August 2017!! Some of the slides were altered to protect student identity. If you want to take this one step further, you can upload this Google Slide presentation into Nearpod and have the students guess at their desks. Have students create an "About Me" video using Adobe Spark. This is a quick way to get to know your students. Students can share their videos on Schoology or on Padlet and respond to each others videos! Challenge students by giving them random prompts to include to their video. You can tie this together with another activity like Bingo, insert the video into Nearpod and ask the students to guess who the student is or have students create the video as an introduction to their portfolio or website. Student Bingo
This is a great team building Ice Breaker to introduce students to each other!! I used the website My Free Bingo Cards to create the Bingo Cards for the students. Since this camp is only 12 students, I made a 9 square Bingo card. The site allows you to make larger size Bingo cards for larger classes. For this class, I had my students create Name Tents with some information so that students who were shy could walk around and get to know their peers without talking to them. I found that this helped to "break the ice" as they were completing the Bingo sheets as they found common interests and started talking about them with each other.
